Reviews and comments
The nightly publication kpn.dk waxed poetic:
Nearly 40 years ago we revelled in Ingmar Bergman's relationship-gone-bad drama on TV. Ten years later, the play was staged in the theatre, the most recent performance being at the Aarhus Teater one year ago, when the comedic elements were accentuated. Director Kim Bjarkes' staging at Folketeatret set out to do something different, and perhaps he made the wise decision.
Bjarkes dampens the numerous comical situations that the text offers up. This adds more weight to the performance, more fervor, many more recognisable situations. For isn't it so that we can approximate reality more than we can comedy.
